It's my version of how I see that new record.
For some people it might be just an simple record with new love songs but when you look closer, it's like reading a little chapter of them.
I wanna share my thoughts and feelings about some lyrics part. I know I made already a blog about the whole album but this time I wanna be specific about some lyrics.
For me, LP is sharing some kind of things from her past, not only about their ex's.
I mean, LP is talking about being alone and her inner child and the situation that surprised me is that I asked them on a live from YouTube, if LP feels emotional naked since the record came out. Their answer was no and that they like it to share their bullshit with us. Strong answer. ( You can see that clip on my IG Page )
LP is definitely not sharing bullshit, the newest record is a lot about self reflection and I love it.
Every LP Fan I guess knows almost every Interview from them, so I start with an Interview that isn't that old. An Interview with the SPIN Magazine where LP talked a bit about their family, the situation between them and their father.
LP had that interview in that when 'Churches' was released but because of the new songs I had a little flashback.

The song 'Wild' reminds me of that inner child. Of course it's a love song but there is the line:
"I wanna float, I wanna fly
My inner child
I only need it to survive
Let me go wild
I gotta flow, I gotta fly"
For me it sounds like LP's inner child wants to be free and wild.
Today they reached that freedom and gives a shit what others think of them.
Of course, sometimes in some situations we're dealing with our inner child or have to face it and I think that LP has to deal with that but that make us stronger.
'Wild' isn't only a song about love and freedom. It's about facing the inner child in all of us.
"I wanna feel your darkness
And hold you in the farthest place that you run
Your father and your mother
Don't have to be the lover that you became"
I don't know ... is LP talking one of their ex's or about themself in another perspective?
Because when you read that SPIN Interview, you could guess that they could speak about their self.
We grow with our parents, we love them, sometimes we don't understand the things they do and how they show their love to us, so it can be that we handle some things like them or we start to love a person like they would do instead of loving a person in our own way. We make maybe the same mistakes like our parents instead of making our own.
What I want to say is that's okay to be different, to make other choices and the most important thing, to be yourself.
I know it can be a long way but it's worth it, trust me.
"I find my way to you no matter what I do
You're in my car you're in my head you're in my attitude
And so suddenly
You're singing back to me
I'm dancing to a beat I know"
Now a part of self reflection and that's a really beautiful and honest line in 'Love Song'.
I guess some of you know about which person, LP is talking about.
Can we please appreciate that ? How deep and loving.
I think we all have one person or more in our life that affected us the most.
It doesn't matter if it's family, chosen family, girl-/ or boyfriend, ex's, best friends, friends or even Idols.
With some people we're years together, so it's clear that we learn or copy something from them.
Even when it's hard to say that but i learned a lot about my ex's. The way I don't want to be.
Not that supportive like LP to their ex's, I guess. Oooops.
"I can't change the way you're making me change"
Boom, another line about, that people in our life can affected us.
LP is really on point with their lyrics as you can see.
I could write about other lyrics but that would take to long.
LP's newest record is for me the best because my feelings and emotions are similar to that one. I have to deal with my inner child everyday and I learned something new about self reflection.
I hope you like my new blog, have a nice weekend and love you.
Lots of love, Lara
